I love cafe 290. I never have any issues when I go. Food is always good and the service is great! They always have amazing bands playing. Great spot for the grown folks vibe that Atlanta seems to lack! Trust me, you will enjoy yourself at Cafe 290!!

Loved the music! The food was not bad, either. Nice place for jazz & the singer was out of this WORLD!! Ordered the shrimp & grits. Delicious!

A group of us was visiting Atlanta from out of town. It was six of us, two couples each and the server asked us how we separated and we told him that way our checks would be separated. The music was good however I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and the chicken was burnt on the bottom. I sent the plate back to the kitchen and the server asked me if I wanted something else and I told him no. My uncle and boyfriend order the salmon and it was very dry and my aunt order the jerk chicken and that was cooked very well which she enjoyed. At the end of the night the server brought us one ticket and hand wrote the total that each couple had to pay on the back of the ticket stating that he couldn't separate them. As we were adding up our items on our cell phones and they were not totaling up right the server only then told us that he added 20% gratuity to our bill which was not listed on the ticket. Furthermore, the Chicken Parmesan that I sent back to the kitchen that was burnt was on the bill and then he told us that the kitchen don't take back plates so we had to pay for it. I was so upset I only took two bites out of the plate and that was never communicated to us through out the night (we were there for about 2 and half hours). That was unacceptable. Then the server said that he didn't charge me for at $7 class of wine (the Chicken Parmesan was $19). We felt were being taken advantage of because we were from out of town. The service that we received from our server was very disappointing and I would not recommend this place if you are planning on eating dinner. I would advise you to eat and drink before you come that way you can just sit back and enjoy the music.

The place is really small so if you want a good seat you have to come early. The jazz is modern and they have live musicians entertaining. The crowd is older and the atmosphere is relaxed. The employees are cool and the food is fantastic!

This place is amazing. I went on a school trip and the band was great and the service was amazing. Everyone is so kind and helpful. This is a great experience. They opened early for us to go before a musical and i’m so glad we went. I will definitely be coming again.
